GSO (Getting Started Outing) 2017

The Getting Started Outing is a fantastic event designed especially to help beginning fly fishers to get started fly fishing the Eastern Sierra.  But even experienced old time members can join in the fun. Check out the line-up of guided activities. Register for the BBQ Dinner and those events that you qualify for. Note that a few are specifically encouraging beginners. Others are planned for more advanced anglers. Many are open to all. Or, don't register for any of the guided activities, but come and fish some of your favorite Sierra spots and get together with friends for meals and campfires.
You can get more information by clicking the "Additional Info:" link or going to "Getting Started Outing" under "Special Events".

Unfortunately we have been informed that the Shady Rest Campground will be under construction this summer due to some damage. It is uncertain what the camping availability will be at this time. We have NOT been able to reserve a group campsite for this outing. The recommendation is that members communicate with the Mammoth Ranger station or the campground as the date is closer to see what is available.

Click on the "Register Now" button. follow the instructions. Note that the BBQ Dinner is listed at $25.00 and youngsters under 12 are only $15.00 and the open bar is ,of course, additional. You can pay Steve Ebersold (contact data is listed under the BBQ Dinner activity) before the event.  Review the activities and check those that you want to do. Make sure that your selected activities don't overlap as it's rather difficult to float tube Crowley while casting dry flies on the Dana Fork.  If you have difficulties, you may contact Jim Fleisher (818) 430-2909 (text or voice).
