Want to learn how to catch those monster Browns that live under the cut banks of the Upper Owens (or any other river), then join Mike Villemaire. The activity will be geared to streamer fishing only and explain the various techniques and equipment set-up. Bring your own favorite streamer flies. The class is limited to six participants and there is a $50.00 fee for this activity payable at the time of registration. Location will be provided 1 week prior to activity.
Rods: 5-6 wt rod preferably fairly fast action 9-10’ long. Mike prefers longer rods.
Line: WF floating lines. The water will be low and air cool. Sink tips are not really that useful in these small streams but 10’ sink lines are optional as long as a floating line is available as well.
Mike prefers Rio Indicator and Bank Shot lines.
Leader and tippet: 9’ 2x leaders and 2-4x tippet. Tippet rings are optional.
Flies: Punk Perch Size 8,10. Olive woolly bugger size 8,10. Sculpzilla white size 6, senyo’s trout part. Finesse game changer. White and green balanced leech size 10. Mint mouse size 10.
And any flies that folks like to fish as fishing a fly with confidence is the most important thing.
