2024 BEGINNING FLY TYING CLASS

Our seven week course will get you well on your way to a satisfying lifetime creating flies that will catch fish! You'll begin by learning basic techniques that you'll use to tie simple flies. Week by week you'll acquire more advanced skills and apply them to create more complex flies. Each class will run from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

Jan 24…..Woolly Bugger
Jan 31…..Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear

The Facey Patient Education Facility in Mission Hills
You'll be guided by experienced fly tiers who will be your coaches and instructors throughout the course. Your cost will be $80 which is partial payment for your fly tying materials and the course instruction manual. SPFF pays the balance of the cost. We will lend you all the tools required for the course, including a vise and a lamp. Payment for the course is required when you register, either by Credit Card or PayPal.
Unless you are absolutely sure about the vise, tools, and lamp you intend to purchase, we strongly encourage you to WAIT and use our loaners. The instructors will have a variety of vises & tools and you'll be able to get some valuable advice as to what you may want to buy.
In addition to this course, we meet most Wednesdays throughout the year to learn how to tie a fly that's taught by one of our talented group or a special guest tier. Most of our graduates join us for these sessions and many then even go on to become class instructors.
Because each class will require you to use skills that you learned at the previous classes, it's very important that you attend ALL the classes. And yes, there will be homework!
THIS CLASS IS LIMITED TO 10 STUDENTS – REGISTER NOW!
