Hot Creek Fish Survey- Volunteer to Help and Learn
About this event
The CDFW Bishop Field Office and Heritage Wild Trout Program will be conducting our population estimate surveys at Hot Creek in October 2025 (10/14-17). CDFW is looking for volunteers to assist with the survey effort.
Volunteers will need to have waders to assist with fish netting, block net placement, live car handling and be capable of wading most of the day. They should also bring a lunch, water, sun hat, sunscreen and other necessities for being out in the sun, wind and weather during the survey effort. These surveys are scheduled to take all day (9-5).
Please contact the CDFW Bishop Field Office to sign up to assist. Contact Nick Buckmaster at nick.buckmaster@wildlife.ca.gov or call 760-920-8391. If Nick is not available, you can also call the front office at 760-872-1171 and leave your contact information.
Please meet CDFW at the Hot Creek Interpretive Site at 0900 each day to conduct the survey.
