2025 Hot Creek Ranch Lottery & Registration

Hi Everyone,

Hot Creek Ranch Outing Registration Rules 2025

Because of high demand for the June Hot Creek Ranch outing, a lottery mechanism has been developed to make access more equitable. The SPFF member is entering the lottery for a cabin at Hot Creek Ranch June 6-9, 2025.

Note: Active membership is required to enter lottery.

1. Lottery Cabins 3-9 drawn in order.

2. Once winners are chosen, then Registration will open for winners to Register on a certain date/time and pay a $500 deposit.

3. Lottery spots after the first 7 winners are selected will be placed on a waitlist. If a cabin is cancelled and becomes available, the next waitlist individual, once notified, has 48 hours to accept.

4. The weekend rate is $TBD (inc. taxes & fees was $1050 in 2024) per cabin for two (2) anglers sharing a cabin. A third angler would pay an additional $TBD (plus tax) per night which is paid directly to HCR when leaving. Since the club has pre-paid the reservations, we need all required payments by the April 15, 2025. The cabin holder must be a SPFF member. Only registered SPFF members and their guests who have signed the SPFF waiver and are staying on the ranch can fish the private waters. Full payment is due by April 15; any cancellation after that payment is subject to forfeiture, unless the next waitlist member or another SPFF member is willing to assume payment for the cabin.

5. There is no requirement that a 3rd angler must occupy a cabin.

Note: A cancellation request must be received by outings@spff.org from the registered party. Only if SPFF is able to fill the cabin will all paid fees be returned.

Registrants are responsible for the ENTIRE reservation unless a replacement can be found.


Lottery Mechanism

1. During the January 2025 Dinner & Program meeting a lottery will choose participants.
--- The deadline to notify the Outings Chairperson, Haik at: outings@spff.org, via email is Tuesday January 14, 2025.
--- Members can also enter names for the lottery drawing at the January 2025 Dinner & Program meeting.
--- Members do not have to be present to secure a spot. Outings Chairperson/Committee member will contact all winners.


2. Drawing for winners occurs in person at the January 2025 Dinner & Program meeting, and is communicated to the Outings Committee.
--- Individuals enter names at the beginning of the meeting if they haven't already and the lottery will be drawn prior to the Program speaker.
