ANNUAL GREAT FALL OUTING (GFO) MAMMOTH LAKES, CA OCTOBER 24-27, 2024 Join your fellow club members and guests for a weekend of fishing and learning. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 24 Arrive, get into town. Check your gear and hit the fly shop for any flies or gear needed. Call a buddy to meet for evening fishing and/or dinner and get to bed early as we will be hitting the ground running on Friday! FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25 We will have several outings on Friday led by club experts. These will include a nymphing clinic led by Rick Russo and Marshall Bissett and a dry fly clinic led by Richard Plunkett and David Hoffberg. We have also arranged for two local guides, Fred Rowe and Otis Hein, to have special clinics on Friday. There will be a Euro Nymphing clinic and a streamer clinic. ** There will be a charge for these activities payable at the time of registration. 4:30pm "Happy Hour" at the Mammoth Brewing Company on Friday starting at 4:30 PM. Come for drinks and stay for dinner if you like. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26 | DAYTIME, Go Fish! Will be an open, free day to fish as you wish. You learned about many of the great places during the great summer outing (GSO) and it is time to strike out on your own. Try some of the Yosemite streams, the East Walker, the Upper Owens and Hot Creek. All these fishable waters should be perfect by then. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26 | EVENING DINNER >> NEW TIME! 5:00PM >> (not 6pm) Will be a no-host cocktails and dinner at Burgers Restaurant in Mammoth Lakes. There will, of course, be a raffle and much story telling. Registration is required for the dinner as we have to give the restaurant an accurate head count. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27 | EVENT ENDS Pack up and return home. Or plan to stay longer and fish to your heart's content with friends. Just know that our event will be officially "wrapped"up and we'll dream about returning to do some more fishing & exploring! So, make plans and save the dates. The website is still under construction and will be ready for registrations soon. I will let you know when it is ready. Enjoy the rest of the summer and see you in the fall!
