Project Healing Waters

Good afternoon Project Healing Waters Veterans and Volunteers!

This Thursday, August 15th, is our "3rd Thursday" session at The Vet Center, 9737 Haskell Ave, North Hills. Phone: (818) 892-9227

Mas "Mr. Hot Creek" Okui will lead a fly tying class from 4:00 to 6:00 tying his "Killer" pattern, known by all who fish Hot Creek as the "go to fly" to have in your box.

Along with tying the Killer, Mas will share stories of fishing throughout the Eastern Sierra over the last 50+ years. You won't want to leave early, as Mas will be giving away fly tying material to those who are first to answer his own "trivial pursuit" game of questions ranging from Dodger history to past presidential tide bits.

Lawn casting will be available for those that want to work on their casting skills.

Hope to see you all THIS THURSDAY at The Vet Center.

Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. (PHWFF) is open to all Disabled Veterans and Disabled Active Duty Military Personnel. The group is supported by a staff of volunteers who are long time members of Sierra Pacific Fly Fishers, www.spff.org, a fly fishing club established in the San Fernando Valley in 1971.

Attend a PHWFF meeting, and get hands on, one-on-one instruction on Fly Rod Casting, Fly Tying, and Fly Rod Building. Fly fishing trips are provided for Participants who regularly attend, and participate in meeting activities. All you need do is come to The Vet Center. We look forward to seeing any new faces.
